December 21, 2020

Hindsight is...I'm gonna write it...2020.

Once upon a time, I used to recap my years in detail.

What shall I say about the year that was 2020?

I suppose what I wrote in 2016 still resonates now:

"Many lives have been lost, more lives have been threatened; and we (read: the dominant group) have all watched in horror, tweeted in disdain, showered in neglect."

Except I think humanity might be turning a corner with some things? Is that just the eternal optimist in me talking? What gives me the audacity and courage to imagine a better future?

Now for a rewind back through a year of staying home more than I ever have:

This December, I'm currently editing my third YouTube video for this year. The first two: January 2020 Library Haulwellness in 2020.

November, as the cards foretold, was for rest. Taking cues from The Nap Ministry, I'm planning to take an annual sabbath from now on. I love checking in with friends but definitely need my alone time to create art and process life uninterrupted.

During my birth month, October, I summoned friends to gather outside for such a beautiful day. I was treated to handmade cards and plants and dogs.

In September, I oriented a new cohort of AmeriCorps members trying to bridge the digital divide.

August...what happened in August?

July...........?

June was explosive.

What did intersectional feminism look like for you this year?

(This post will be updated again. I think?)
